❤️💙 Giving Roseanna the Gift of Safety ❤️💙

MISSEDABEAT, with the incredible support of Tesco, is proud to have donated a portable defibrillator to Roseanna and her family — giving them reassurance, comfort, and lifesaving support wherever they go. ❤️💙

Roseanna lives with complex medical needs following brain injury caused by reduced blood flow, which has led to epilepsy, seizures, and other neurological challenges. She also lives with 3rd nerve palsy, ptosis, requires NG feeding, and ongoing medical care.

After suffering a cardiac arrest, everyday life changed for Roseanna’s family. Simple things many of us take for granted — popping to the shops or planning a family day out — meant carefully checking where the nearest community defibrillator was, just in case the unthinkable happened.

Living with that constant worry is something no family should have to face. ❤️

Having their own portable defibrillator now brings a huge sense of relief, knowing they have immediate access to lifesaving equipment wherever they are. 💙

When Mark from MISSEDABEAT was contacted and Roseanna’s condition was explained, the family asked if the charity could support fundraising to help them purchase a device.

Mark wanted to ensure the family had a portable defibrillator at hand to save precious time in an emergency and give them reassurance. Taking away the burden of having to raise the funds was something MISSEDABEAT knew they could support with.

Without hesitation, Mark immediately offered to donate a defibrillator — lifting a huge weight off the family’s shoulders and ensuring Roseanna has the protection she needs at all times. ❤️💙

Mark was also deeply aware that although families can take steps to identify nearby community defibrillators, this alone cannot always guarantee access in an emergency. Through his work, he continues to find that many devices are unfortunately not maintained or checked regularly, and some are not registered on The Circuit — the national defibrillator network used by emergency services.

One simple but vital step he highlights is ensuring a clear postcode reference is displayed on the cabinet door. This helps emergency services quickly identify the exact location and provide the access code to anyone trying to retrieve the defibrillator. It’s a small detail that can make a lifesaving difference and is one of the first things that should be done when installing a community defibrillator.

Chelsea shared:“Thank you so much for donating a defib to Roseanna at Houghton Tesco. It could be lifesaving to our little girl after she has had a cardiac arrest, and having seizures and needing rescue medication which requires us to locate a defib when used.”

Stories like Roseanna’s are exactly why MISSEDABEAT exists. Every defibrillator placed, every family supported, and every community made safer is another step towards saving lives and preventing other families from facing unimaginable loss. ❤️

Together, with your continued support, we will keep pushing forward — raising awareness, improving access to lifesaving equipment, and ensuring defibrillators are not only installed but ready to use when every second counts. 💙

❤️ Because every heartbeat matters ❤️
