Another Community Defibrillator & Bleed Control Kit Installed 💚⚡
MISSEDABEAT are proud to announce the installation of a new Community Defibrillator and Bleed Control Kit at the Hammers & Pincers after speaking with Ruth and the team at this fantastic venue.
The Hammers & Pincers is used for weddings, christenings, birthdays, yearly festivals and also has a campsite, making it a busy community location visited by so many people throughout the year. Many of our own fundraisers also use this venue, so for MISSEDABEAT it was a complete no brainer to ensure a 24/7 accessible community defibrillator was available there.
Mark researched the closest available device and could not believe the nearest defibrillator was actually another one installed by MISSEDABEAT at Newton Aycliffe Sports Club — located just 0.8 miles away.
By car this would mean travelling 2.8 miles, taking at least 7 minutes each way — a minimum 14-minute return journey. During cardiac arrest, every minute without access to a defibrillator drastically reduces the chances of survival.
If travelling on foot, even a competent runner would take around 7-8 minutes one way whilst also needing to cross busy roads, making the return journey approximately 14-16 minutes.
This project is all about community ❤️
The support we have received from TESCO, enabling us to purchase another cabinet ready for installation, truly shows how much they care for the town and all the visitors we welcome each year.
A massive thank you to Gemma, Shirley and all the team at Tesco for their incredible support.
Thank you also to Andy and the team at Remedy Festival who, once again this year, are supporting MISSEDABEAT through ticket sales and fundraising during their event.

❤️Ruth from the Hammers & Pincers ❤️
❤️Peace of mind knowing we might have to use it one day and be able to save someone’s life.”
“With the caravan site and events on most weekends, having it available 24/7 is fantastic.”
“MISSEDABEAT are doing a great job for the local community putting these life-saving defibrillators around the area. The charity boxes also help the charity continue to maintain devices and provide more life-saving cabinets.❤️

❤️Andy Lee from Remedy Festival added❤️
❤️Every cabinet Mark gets onto a wall is a piece of kit that could keep a neighbour, a friend, or a stranger alive long enough for the ambulance to arrive.”
“We're proud that the Hammers & Pincers, our home for Remedy, now has its own community defibrillator mounted on the outside wall of the pub, accessible 24/7.”
“Why Missed a Beat? Because our DJs never miss a beat either and we'd quite rather like the rest of us kept ours going too.❤️
We would also like to thank all our amazing fundraisers for their continued support. Without you, MISSEDABEAT would not be able to carry out projects like this around Newton Aycliffe and neighbouring towns.

❤️Finally, a huge thank you to our electrical angel Ben Simpson at Sparkwise Solutions, who once again has installed another local defibrillator.
Anyone who knows Ben will know he suffered a cardiac arrest himself and was saved by a defibrillator, so he knows first-hand just how important these devices truly are❤️

Every second counts during a cardiac arrest 💚⚡
