🚨 Meet Dean Harrison – Our Newest Defibrillator Guardian 🚨

We’re delighted to welcome Dean Harrison to the MISSEDABEAT team of Guardians – a growing network of amazing local people who regularly check and maintain defibrillators to ensure they are emergency ready.

Dean, a qualified First Aider at T & G Automotive Shildon , has stepped up to oversee the defibrillator located next to the old PSP site. The nearby factory recently closed, but Dean understands just how important it is to have life-saving equipment close by for those still working in the area.

Dean shared:

“I’m a First Aider at T & G Automotive, which is the factory unit next to the old PSP site. I understand the importance of having a defibrillator in the close vicinity to my workplace, and I’m more than happy to contribute to its upkeep. Knowing it’s there and fully maintained brings huge reassurance to myself, the other First Aider, and all employees at the factory if it were ever needed. I know MISSED A BEAT does a lot of work in my community raising money to provide defibrillators, and I also know the heartbreaking reasons and events that kickstarted the charity a few years ago.”

🙏 On behalf of MISSEDABEAT, Mark would like to personally thank Dean for stepping forward. Guardians like Dean play a vital role in ensuring our defibrillators are always accessible, functional, and ready to save lives.

Unfortunately, a recent emergency involved a defibrillator (not overseen by us) that couldn’t be accessed due to a faulty cabinet door – a stark reminder of why regular checks are so important.

Thank you, Dean, for helping keep your workplace – and your community – safer. 💛
