ASH DUNN – WHAT A BLOKE! 🏃♂️👏
I honestly can't believe what our good mate Ash Dunn is doing for MISSEDABEAT over on the other side of the pond!
For those who don't know Ash, he's originally from Newton Aycliffe but now lives over in America with his family.
I've known Ash for years, and I'll always remember having a good catch-up with him in the shed down at the Aycliffe football ground when he was back home visiting.
What started off as the usual chat and a bit of banter soon turned into a conversation about MISSEDABEAT, what we'd achieved so far and what we were hoping to do moving forward.
Ash was genuinely interested in what we were doing and said he'd love to get involved and help us out from America.
He mentioned he was going to start doing a few runs over there to help raise awareness and support the charity.

Well, Ash, when you said a few runs, I didn't think you meant all of America, mate! ❤️💙🏃♂️
What this lad has gone on to achieve is absolutely brilliant!
From running a few miles around the park to taking on half marathons and full marathons, including finishing 3rd at the Montezuma Half Marathon and smashing the Wineglass Marathon in 3 hours, 27 minutes and 11 seconds! 👏🏅
And now he's got his sights set on qualifying for the Boston Marathon!
The best bit is that Ash was so keen to support us that he even went and had his own MISSEDABEAT running vest made!
How good is that? ❤️💙
Well, mate, as you can see from the pictures, we've finally managed to get one of our official MISSEDABEAT running vests sent across to you, so there's no excuse now! ❤️💙
I can't wait to see the pictures from your next events, proudly flying the MISSEDABEAT flag over in America.

On a serious note, though, Ash, I can't thank you enough, mate.
To think that something we started here in Newton Aycliffe after losing our good friend Darren is now being represented at marathons thousands of miles away is pretty amazing.
You're doing us proud, mate, and we're absolutely chuffed to have you as part of Team MISSEDABEAT! ❤️💙
🇺🇸❤️💙 NOW THEN, ASH... I'VE GOT AN IDEA!
Anyone who knows me knows I'm always thinking about the next thing we can do with MISSEDABEAT.
And seeing everything Ash is doing over in America has got me thinking...
💙Why shouldn't we have a MISSEDABEAT defibrillator over in America?❤️
Well, I've decided that's exactly what we're going to work towards!
One day, I want us to install our very first MISSEDABEAT community defibrillator in America, somewhere close to Ash, his family, his mates and the community he now calls home.
And with Ash helping us raise funds and awareness over there, I think it's only right that we try to put something back into his local community.
Something that will be there for years to come and, hopefully, one day save someone's life.

How good would that be, mate? 🇺🇸❤️
From a conversation between two mates in a shed at Aycliffe football ground to hopefully standing together in America unveiling a lifesaving defibrillator!
Who would have thought it?
But that's what MISSEDABEAT is all about. Good people coming together, helping each other out and hopefully making a difference along the way.
So Ash, there's our next little challenge, mate. Let's get a MISSEDABEAT defibrillator over to America!❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙
Keep smashing those miles, keep enjoying yourself and keep doing what you're doing.
We're all behind you, mate! 👏❤️💙
EVERY HEART CAN MISS A BEAT ❤️💙
