Community defibrillator at the gatehouse of the Husqvarna site in Newton Aycliffe Business Park.

Mark Preston

Husqvarna UK and MISSEDABEAT have partnered to place a community defibrillator at the gatehouse of the Husqvarna site in Newton Aycliffe Business Park. As a resident of over 20 years, Husqvarna is dedicated to fostering a positive, socially responsible presence in the local and wider communities, supporting initiatives that align with this commitment.

Mark from MISSEDABEAT identified the gatehouse as an ideal location for the defibrillator after spending time around the industrial estate with his family and their Staffordshire Bull Terrier, OX. He reached out to Dan Wilkinson and the team at Husqvarna, who were eager to partner with a local charity to improve safety for the community around the business park.

MISSEDABEAT hopes this collaboration will lead to a long-term partnership with Husqvarna. Mark expressed his gratitude to Andrew Horner and the Facilities Team for their quick, effective work in bringing this project to completion, emphasizing how meaningful it was to have such strong support for the initiative.

After delivering the defibrillator cabinet, the Husqvarna team, led by Andrew Horner and the Facilities Team, swiftly installed the unit at the gatehouse, making it easily accessible to local residents in emergencies. Mark registered the defibrillator on the national network, allowing emergency services to locate it quickly, helping to reduce response times and potentially save lives.

Watch this space — with Husqvarna's generous donation of the Automower® 405X, MISSEDABEAT is one step closer to turning this amazing support into community defibrillators. This donation will help fuel future projects, bringing vital life-saving equipment to even more communities. Thank you, Husqvarna, for helping us make a lasting impact!
