MISSEDABEAT were contacted by local charity North East Hearts with Goals, who asked Mark Preston from MISSEDABEAT if he would be interested in taking on a local project working with Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) North East, to provide defibrillators for community use.
Mark thanked Christine for thinking about MISSEDABEAT and said he would be more than happy agreed to take on the project immediately from NEHWG.
Mark met Stuart Miller at CECA (NE) and discussed the defibrillators that are required around various sites around the northeast confirmed that initially, four defibrillators would be made available to provide coverage in Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne & Wear and the Tees Valley.
"As part of our Social Value commitments, CECA's Management Board are keen to continue working with MISSEDABEAT to have the defibrillators installed immediately in all their sites and plan to have several across the Northeast and the Tees Valley. associated with projects they are delivering. roll out more later in the year"
Mark and Stuart discussed the number of sites/locations where CECA would like to have defibrillators installed. Mark asked for postcodes and address of the sites so that he can with an objective identify the sites locations that don't have defibrillators close by.
Stuart stated that he is keen to develop this initiative and get the defibrillators installed as soon as possible.
Mark provided CECA with a defibrillator and has arranged to have this registered on the national circuit. It now ready for use, and accessible 24/7 at The Avenues Eleventh Avenue North, Gateshead for the workforce in the area and members of the public alike.
