Aycliffe Village Community receive replacement defibrillator

After receiving several messages from residents from Aycliffe Village, MISSESABEAT arranged a meeting with Mayor CLLR Carl Robinson.

The defibrillator which is placed outside the Community Hall needed replacement, as it was beyond repair. Fortunately, they were kindly loaned a device and the community had begun fundraising in order to have a full-time replacement.

Mark from MISSEDABEAT met Carl on 12th December and immediately agreed to help !. Carl then discussed with the Aycliffe Village Residents Association Community group, and it was agreed that MISSEDABEAT would oversee the replacement device and that the community group would make donation towards the MISSEDABEAT at a later date.

The new device was handed over to Carl and the whole Aycliffe Village Community, during the annual Carol service held on 19th December on the village green.

A big thank you to K&L Travel (Brain Burniston) who kindly started the fundraising off, with fantastic donation of £100. The two pubs in the village; Royal Telegraph (Vicki) and The County (Michael) have had a donation box put on the bar, so that local residents can make donations, no matter how big or small.

Michael Parkin the owner of the County, stated that "As a community we all need to pull together and I was keen to learn more about MISSEDABEAT charity. I plan to meet with Mark to discuss how I can support the charity further in the future.
