MISSEDABEAT Install 24/7 Community Defibrillator at Phoenix Club

MISSEDABEAT has proudly installed a 24/7 community defibrillator outside the Phoenix Club following discussions with members of the community and their commitment to supporting MISSEDABEAT throughout the year, with the first event being their Easter fundraising event.

Last year, the Phoenix Club contacted Mark from MISSEDABEAT due to concerns regarding the portable defibrillator that was located inside the club. After inspecting the device, Mark identified several issues which meant it could not be relied upon in an emergency. MISSEDABEAT immediately loaned the club a replacement defibrillator and also supplied a bleed control kit, while the charity assessed the costs and options linked to providing a long-term solution.

Mark from MISSEDABEAT later made the decision to support the Club, its tenants and the wider community by ensuring a defibrillator is accessible at all times. Over the past year there have unfortunately been several medical scares where members of the public and visitors required urgent access to a defibrillator. Working together makes complete sense — because ensuring the safety of everyone is paramount.

The charity box placed inside the Phoenix Club had to be collected last week as it was almost full — a true reflection of the incredible generosity of the tenants and customers. Whether it’s a penny or a pound, it all adds up. Funds raised through MISSEDABEAT charity boxes go solely towards maintaining the units we install, including replacement pads and batteries, ensuring they remain rescue-ready.

We encourage every venue with a 24/7 community defibrillator to consider having a charity box in place — helping us keep hearts beating ❤️💙

The funding MISSEDABEAT has been able to raise through Tesco has made a huge impact on what we are able to deliver within the community. We cannot thank Shirley and the team enough for their continued support. The cabinet proudly displays the Tesco logo, representing the strong partnership we have built together.

A huge thank you also goes to Pinpoint Electrical Services for being a trusted installation partner of MISSEDABEAT. Their support ensures life-saving equipment is safely installed and ready when needed. They truly are our electrical angels — and without the backing of local businesses, we could not continue our mission.

Dave Robinson has taken up the role as Guardian of the defibrillator and will have full support from MISSEDABEAT if and when the defibrillator is activated, ensuring it is checked and returned to emergency-ready status as quickly as possible. The defibrillator has also been registered on The Circuit, the National Defibrillator Network, meaning it is linked directly to the emergency services so it can be identified and directed to members of the public if required.

This installation marks community defibrillator number 72 — and we are fast approaching the 100 mark.

If you would like to support MISSEDABEAT in any way — through fundraising, volunteering, or simply becoming part of the team — please get in touch.

We have many exciting projects in place and cannot wait to share them with you all.
