A sunny evening spent at Archers Ice Cream Parlour with staff from Archers and members of Aycliffe Velo Cycling Club, who celebrate their tenth anniversary. The club made a donation of £1000 to MISSEDABEAT
.
Mark Preston, Susan Milburn, Rebekah Parker, Sue Archer and Jane Akers, met with Mark as he felt it would be good to redirect the donation made by the club to help fund the installation of a community defibrillator located in an area that the Cycling club use, but also were where is a vast amount of general public accessing the area.
There is a big climb from the bottom of Walworth castle up to Walworth gate, which is regularly used by local cyclists and also others from out of the area. During the winter months this Hill can become very demanding and hard to access.
Archers will be making a donation towards MISSEDABEAT and have also placed a collection box behind the counter. Every little helps....
Katie Flanagan from Aycliffe Fabrications who kindly manufactured the stand/pole steelwork for the cabinet, also joined the team unveiling the defibrillator.
MISSEDABEAT would also like to Thank G T Coatings for their donation of powder coating the stand, free of charge.
Our electrical angel was on hand again, a massive thank you to P. H Sparks electrical who continues to support MISSEDABEAT with the electrical installation of the Community defibrillators.
The installation of the community defibrillator at Archers has been a team effort from start to finish.
We were also happy to have Leo Leonard attending the unveiling today. Leo aged 7 was presented with his MISSEDABEAT training kit. Leo will be competing in the AJ Bell junior Great North Run in September and will be wearing this, please follow the link below if you would like to support Leo
The Northern Echo County Durham came along to take photos - watch this space for the press release.
