MISSEDABEAT and COMMUNITY SPIRIT NEWTON AYCLIFFE, teamed up again and delivered defibrillator training/awareness tonight for the Rolling Mills (Darlington) for the first and second team players at Longfield Academy Sport Facility. Mark and Jo were spoilt for dummies to practice on.
The Rolling Mills have two teams the 1st and the 2nd team, they now have 2 portable defibrillators which will travel with the teams for all home and away games.
The Rolling Mills over 40`s teams, one playing in Division 2 and the other in Division 4, in the Sunderland and District leagues, play at many destinations around the North East.
Mark was contacted by Craig Swainston, secretary of the 1st team, back in May 2024 and plans were put in place to raise funds. Craig and the secretary of the 2nd team Gok (Gokham Yilmaz), have worked alongside Mark in order to make the fundraising a success and the defibrillators were handed over to the teams.
Craig Swainston and all the players said that they would like to thank Mark and Jo for giving up their time to support Grass Roots Football.
Both teams now have a defibrillator with players who are now trained to use them, let's hope we never need them.
Jo Jones from Community Spirit stated: It`s community spirits privilege to work alongside a great charity like MISSEDABEAT, good CPR alongside quick use of defibrillators can truly save lives.
