Hartlepool Youth Under 15 whites, receive portable defibrillator from MISSEDABEAT

Mark Preston

MISSEDABEAT and Anthony have worked together in order to ensure that a portable defibrillator is available for Kai and his team, to take with them to all home and away games.

Kai who suddenly collapsed whilst playing football for his team on Thursday 2nd May 2024, was admitted to James Cook for ECG and Echo sound. After a nights stay in hospital, he was given the all clear. It was a worrying time for Kai, his family, friends and all the other players and spectators.

Kai`s dad Anthony and Mark from MISSEDABEAT were put in contact with each other after a mutual friend contacted Mark about Kai collapsing during the football match, and that no defibrillator was available pitch side.

Mark has also shared online training with Anthony, so that he can share this with Kai`s team mates and their family to ensure they all have the basic awareness if and when they may need to ever use a defibrillator.

Mark handed over the defibrillator to Kai and Anthony, ensuring that there is a portable defibrillator at all home and away games.
