What a great day/night organized to help raise funds in order for both the 1st and the 2nd teams, to have portable defibrillators with the teams in all home and away games.
The Rolling Mills have two over 40`s teams, one playing in Division 2 and the other in Division 4, in the Sunderland and District leagues, playing at many destinations around the North East.
Recent events have inspired both teams to come together, working closely with MISSEDABEAT. Mark was contacted by Craig Swainston, secretary of the 1st team and plans were put in place to raise funds. Craig and the secretary of the 2nd team Gok (Gokham Yilmaz), have worked together in order to make the fundraising a success.
1st team Manager Craig Swainston, has managed to secure a £500 donation from his employer 'Sembcorp Energy UK ltd'.Â
MISSEDABEAT would like to thank 'Sembcorp Energy UK ltd' for this amazing gesture.
MISSEDABEAT donated a signed Middlesbrough framed football shirt, along with a Newcastle framed and signed football shirt (Callum Wilson).
Gok presented the lucky winner Alan Cox with his signed Callum Wilson shirt
Old and new players, played in the charity match which was held at Longfield School. The game was played to a high level and it finished with a 5-5 draw, which sent the game to penalties. Eventually the blue team came out victorious but the main winner was MISSEDABEAT, as we managed to raise £300. Â
Everyone had their dancing shoes on, on the night Dave Oliver spins some soul classic tunes.
Some of the money that was raised will go towards training equipment, match balls, along with any medical/first aid equipment that may need replacing.
The clubs are absolutely over the moon and would like to thank the support received from Mark Preston and MISSEDABEAT.
Both teams now have their own portable defibrillator which will be taken to every game which could be a real life saver.Â
