Successful Charity Night.
Aimee Howarth hosted a Charity Night, on 6th October in conjunction with MissedABeat foundation, successfully raising the funds for a new portable defibrillator unit for Newton Aycliffe Youth under 13 Eagles football team. As well as raising the funds for the portable defibrillator unit, there was also funds to get the team new training kits which will display the MissedABeat logo to help raise awareness of the importance of a defibrillator and how it greatly increases chances of survival.
Aimee did a magnificent job entertaining the crowd with songs from throughout the decades, receiving outstanding reviews from everyone attending the event. With games, raffles and food the night was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in attendance.
Aimee would like to thank all who attended and supported the night as well as the people / businesses who donated prizes for the raffle.
Aimee joined the team at their training session to hand over the defibrillator unit to team caption the boys all had wore their new training kits.
Eagles manager Martin said 'We as a team would like to thank the work that has gone in behind the scenes to help organize the event. But the biggest Thank you goes to Aimee. Without her the night wouldn't of been a success, she was amazing. So a big Thank you from everyone at Newton Aycliffe Youth u13 Eagles.'
Mark from MissedABeat said, 'it's really great Aimee putting this night on and raising money doing a fantastic job, as well as the funds helping the foundation with the increased exposure is equally important, having a defibrillator unit close at hand rapidly increases the chance of survival from 5% to 74% if delivered within 3-5 minutes, congratulations on a fantastic evening.'
The defibrillator will be duel usage and will be shared with Spennymoor under 13 Saturday team, with a number of the Eagles squad players and coach, involved, which means it is readily available for more games. The defibrillator will be readily available during weekly training sessions and during games for both the Saturday and Sunday teams
